WeWoreWhat founder Danielle Bernstein revealed that she and her longtime boyfriend, Anthony Adler, have broken up.

“I’ve been feeling so anxious to post this, but wanted to address something that I’ve been dealing with privately,” Bernstein, 30, wrote in a statement on her Instagram Story on Monday. “I’ve recently undergone an unfortunate change in my relationship.”

The fashion influencer, who kept Adler’s name private during their four-year relationship, shared that the past few weeks after their split have been “really painful” and “devastating.”

While Bernstein said they still “love each other deeply,” she admitted that the now-exes were in “very different stages” of their lives.

“That’s a reality I’ve had to come to terms with, and make the uncomfortable heartbreaking decision to move forward from,” she wrote.

The style guru thanked her friends and family for being there for her and explained to her 3.1 million Instagram followers that she needed some time to mourn the breakup before discussing her heartbreak so publicly.

“Going through a break up is challenging enough, and I didn’t want to share this update until I felt (sort of) ready to,” she continued.

“I am still going through a whirlwind of emotions and with that, I hope you guys can understand it’s not something I will address further than this right now.”

She concluded, “I don’t know what the future holds but I do know that even if it doesn’t feel that way right now – I am strong and will be okay.”

Bernstein was flooded with supportive messages from her fan base, prompting her to share how touched she was by their words of encouragement.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your messages are beyond touching, the people going through the same thing, we’re all human and here for each other,” she wrote in another Instagram Story. “I love you guys and appreciate the support so much.”

Following the announcement, Bernstein posted photos from a girls’ night out and shared that she is in her “choose YOU era.”

“Nights are one of the hardest parts of all this… but your dms keep pouring in with long thoughtful messages and honestly reading them is bringing me so much comfort and encouragement right now. so thank you,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Tuesday.

The “This Is Not a Fashion Story” author and Adler — who started dating in January 2019 — had been living together in SoHo, and their luxury apartment was even featured in Architectural Digest in 2021.

While Bernstein kept Adler’s identity a secret from her followers, she frequently posted photos and videos with him on date nights and lavish vacations. She also often praised him and shared sweet messages about him over the years.

“happy birthday to my best friend & love of my life,” she wrote in a post with the financier last August.

And on Valentine’s Day in 2022, she wrote, “???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ♡ thanks for being my rock, but also for encouraging me to be my own [rock].”

It’s unclear when the pair officially called it quits.

However, Bernstein last posted Adler on social media in March after they enjoyed a vacation in Mexico.

Bernstein has faced several controversies throughout her time as an influencer. She was slammed for making tone-deaf comments amid the Ukraine-Russia conflict and has also been accused of stealing designs from smaller brands, which she denied.

The blogger was also dragged for partying in the Hamptons maskless during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020; however, she said she had followed CDC guidelines at the time.

Her rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the breakup.
