NextImg:We’re obsessed with the Aritzia Super Puff — Get it up to $100 off pre-Black Friday

Winter’s hottest cold-weather jacket? Easy.

The Artizia Super Puff — and you probably already know it rarely goes on sale.

That is, until today. The marshmallow-shaped jacket that has taken the streets, social media, and my closet by storm, is currently mega-marked down during the Artizia Black Friday sale.

Artizia’s collection of casual luxury staples would not be complete without The Super Puff. Since its release in 2017, the jacket has been spotted on a number of A-listers — notably Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and more fashion influencers than we can keep track of.

Take it from us: Scream “Girl in The Super Puff!” in the middle of New York City, and it’s likely a hoard of women will come running.

So, what is the hype about the seemingly ordinary puffer coat? The 700+ fill down makes it ultra-lightweight, yet powerfully warming (even up to -22° F). Not to mention, the cut is easy to style and universally flattering. I mean, it won’t hug your curves, but it will hide your Thanksgiving dinner without fault.

Basically, it’s basic in the best ways possible. Better yet, it’s offered in almost every style and shade you could imagine; from glossy cropped vests to neutral matte parkas, and bold seasonal color drops that spice up an otherwise basic outfit.

In fact, it’s a favorite on the Post Wanted shopping team — receipts below.

We swear by The Super Puff for all types of cold-weather occasions; commuting to work, window-shopping, or layering up for a day of running errands in the city. It’s even been a companion on some backcountry ski trips.

To sum up The Super Puff lore: It’s versatile, effortlessly, chic, and so practical that buying it while on sale is completely justifiable. With the holidays around the corner, it’s an easy gift, whether for yourself, that sister who always steals yours, or the girlfriend you don’t know how to shop for.

Considering that Aritzia rarely cuts prices on The Super Puff, the deal likely this early Black Friday deal won’t last long. We suggest snagging your own before sizes start selling out.

Thanksgiving is late this year, falling on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

This year, Black Friday and its much-anticipated sales will occur on Friday, November 29, 2024.

We recommend shopping early for items that are likely to sell out, such as perennial gift favorites like Xbox, Ugg boots, PS5, Apple AirPods, the editor-approved Dyson AirWrap and more.

Yes! Most stores and big box retailers continue to hold traditional in-store Black Friday sales but also match discounts for online shoppers. According to the National Retail Federation, Black Friday has topped Cyber Monday as the busiest day of the calendar year for online shopping since 2019.

The earliest usage of “Black Friday” as we know it dates back to the 1950s or ’60s, with “black” nodding to dreaded traffic jams caused by shoppers crowding downtown retail stores, as well as understaffed sales associates. Retailers attempted to rename the day “Big Friday” to signify a day of family fun and shopping. Although the rebrand didn’t stick, the positive connotation did. Retail businesses enjoy increased sales, and consumers enjoy corresponding holiday shopping discounts.

Despite being a great day for retailers, Black Friday still draws on the dark side of American consumerism, as many will remember violent crowds competing for limited merchandise. However, with the advent of internet shopping, retailers and e-tailers have continued to see record-breaking sales in recent years, without the morbid mob mentality kicking off the holiday season.

This year, the online shopping holiday Cyber Monday will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024.

The short answer is, it depends. Some retailers approach Black Friday and Cyber Monday differently, discounting various brands and products throughout the days after Thanksgiving, sometimes at different price points.

Traditionally, Cyber Monday offers retailers an opportunity to drop deeper discounts on already on-sale products. However, consumers should take caution: waiting for Cyber Monday is a risk that products, or certain sizes or models, may sell out.

Conversely, some stores don’t differentiate between their Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

Jet-setters rejoice: Travel Tuesday, with its great deals on flights, hotels, cruises, all-inclusives, and more, will take place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
