Wake up, Wednesday fans, Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) is back and guiding Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) through the afterlife… potentially.

In a newly released trailer for Wednesday Season 2 Part 2, the Game of Thrones alum — whose Nevermore Academy headmaster character died at the end of Season 1 — is back and helping the title character navigate limbo after being tossed out a window by Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan), aka the hyde.

The nearly two-minute Netflix video kicks off with Wednesday awaking from a slumber to find Weems, clad head to toe in nurse’s garb, waiting to give her a sponge bath, which the main character describes as a “fresh ring of hell.”

“This isn’t hell, Miss Addams, but I understand the confusion,” Weems tells Wednesday, who responds, “If I’m not dead, then why are you here?” To that, the elder retorts that she is but a spirit guide for Wednesday, helping her to traverse the plains of life and death after the traumatic events in Season 2, Episode 4.

The good news is that the trailer finally confirms that Wednesday is not dead (more than she is on a day-to-day basis, that is) as one part of the video shows her interacting with Enid (Emma Myers) in their room. The bad news is that she now appears to be stuck 24/7with Weems, who appears to have a major role in Wednesday’s post-fall recovery and the hunt for Tyler post-escape from Willow Hill.

The rest of the trailer sees Weems warning Wednesday to take precautions and protect herself from impending dangers, including Tyler, who is on the run after killing Marilyn Thornhill (Christina Ricci), his mother for all intents and purposes. It all leads to a moment where Weems tells Wednesday that she must stop Tyler and his evil plan before he comes to kill her and Enid. “If you don’t hurry, you’ll have nothing left to save,” she tells Wednesday as the teaser ends.

In Season 1, Christie’s peculiar character was killed by Thornhill, who poisoned her with nightshade. While many fans speculated that Christie, given the size and importance of her role in Season 1 — might return for Season 2, to many, it seemed impossible due to her status.

That said, back around the time of Season 1’s release, Christie played coy while chatting with reporters about whether or not the fanbase had seen the last of her character, saying that “we haven’t seen her put in the ground” and that the principal “seems like the sort of person that would not and could not be defeated by something as commonplace as death.”

While it seems death may have gotten her for real, we now know that for this character, death is just the beginning. Ugh, how Addams Family of her!
