You asked and Warner Bros. delivered! The media company finally released official information about their new platform Max, which will combine content from HBO Max and Discovery+

During Wednesday’s (April 12) press event, Warner Bros. shared that Max is set to launch May 23, 2023 with the tagline “the one to watch.”

A spokesperson stated that the new product will “set the standard across all genres of entertainment.”

He continued to say that while HBO Max and Discovery+ each “offered something for some people,” the new platform “will have a broad array of quality choices for everybody.”

The ad-free version of Max will cost $15.99 per month — which is the current ad-free price of HBO Max — and offers HD quality, two concurrent streams, and 30 downloads.

The new streamer will offer two additional price tiers, including an ad-lite plan priced at $9.99 per month, which includes HD quality and two concurrent streams. The priciest plan is $19.99 for an ultimate plan which includes 4K/HDR with Dolby Atmos, four concurrent streams, and up to 100 downloads.

Max will include content from HBO Max and Discovery+ with the intention of combining weekly television events  — like Succession, The Last of Us and The White Lotus — with the casual watches that Discovery+ offers.

Discovery+ houses programs like MILF Manor, Dr. Pimple Popper and Cupcake Wars.

The platform will also house several new original shows, including the DC series The Penguin, a second Game of Thrones prequel, a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory, and “fresh take” on The Conjuring.

The new platform will culminate in the end of the HBO Max; however, Discovery+ will remain a standalone streamer.
