NextImg:Von Miller feels threat of Aaron Rodgers-led Jets but ‘at peace’ because of Josh Allen

Von Miller was impressed with the Jets before Aaron Rodgers’ arrival and even more so after the trade, but he will still take his quarterback Josh Allen over Rodgers any day.

Miller appeared on Fan Duel TV’s “Up and Adams” show Wednesday hosted by media personality Kay Adams, where he weighed in on the new Jets lineup against his own with the Bills.

“It’s Aaron Rodgers and that Jets team was already crazy. They already competitive without Aaron Rodgers. Their defense is one of the best defenses in the league — Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner,” Miller said on the episode. “Got great linebackers. They got C.J. Mosely. They got a tough team. I mean they got Garrett Wilson — one of the best receivers already. …Bryce Hall was killing the league.”

Now that the Jets secured the veteran quarterback on Monday, the threat of the team has grown and their AFC East rivals like Vonn have noticed.

The Jets went 7-10 last season, but saw flashes of their future with Gardner and Wilson, who won defensive and offensive rookie of the year respectfully, and Hall before he was injured.

With Rodgers on their side, pressure for a first playoff appearance since 2010 and their first Super Bowl win since 1968-69, have significantly increased.

Nevertheless, those expectations won’t come easily without overcoming some of the league’s best and Miller knows the Bills, which have won the past three AFC East titles, still remain just as much as a threat as the new Jets.

“I’m at peace though because we have Josh Allen and we have Stefon Diggs. We have a great team as well,” the outside linebacker said.

When asked if Miller would put Allen above the 39-year-old Rodgers if he had to rank those two quarterbacks as an NFL manager, he said “I’m home Josh Allen, Josh Allen, Josh Allen, Josh Allen.”

Allen at 26-years-old has placed second and third for the MVP award two years in a row, placed in the top-10 of the AP Offensive Player of the Year award back-to-back years, and earned two Pro Bowl nods.

Last season, he led the Bills to their fourth playoff appearance in a row and concluded his regular season throwing 4,283 yards for 35 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Allen has led the Bills to a wild-card playoff game, an AFC conference championship, and two divisional playoff rounds, but has yet to make it to the big game.

At 26 Rodgers was in his fifth year with the Packers, second as the leading quarterback, and earned his first Pro Bowl appearance. The following year, he won his first Super Bowl in 2010 over the Steelers 31-25.

He has won four MVPs in his career.
