NextImg:Vikings’ Jordan Addison cited for driving Lamborghini 140 mph in 55-mph zone

Vikings rookie Jordan Addison was pulled over early Thursday morning by police after driving 140 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone in his Lamborghini Urus.

The wide receiver was traveling eastbound on Interstate-94 near Dale Street in Saint Paul around 3 a.m. when Minnesota State Patrol officers saw him driving well past the speed limit.

The trooper proceeded to make a traffic stop on the wideout’s Lamborghini, and they issue the 21-year-old a ticket for speed and reckless driving.

The investigation is still open, per an incident report.

“We are aware of last night’s traffic incident involving Jordan Addison and are gathering additional information,” the Vikings said in a statement, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

Vikings rookies are set to report to training camp on Sunday, followed by veterans two days later with the first on-field work set for Wednesday, and it’s unclear if this legal issue could potentially have an impact on Addison’s attendance.

The former USC wideout was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the No. 23 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft — the fourth receiver off the board.

Addison was cited early Thursday, July 20, for speeding and reckless driving, after a state trooper clocked him at 140 mph in his sports car in a 55 mph zone.

Addison started his collegiate career by playing two seasons at Pittsburgh, where he was a consensus All-American in 2021 before transferring to USC for his final season.

Throughout his collegiate career, the receiver had 219 receptions for 3,134 yards with an average of 14.3 yards per catch, and 29 touchdowns over the three years.

The rookie is projected to start in the place of long-time Vikings receiver Adam Thielen, who recently departed for the Carolina Panthers.

Along with All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn, Addison looks to be a key part of a Minnesota team that, despite having a top-10 offense a season ago along with a 13-4 record, didn’t advance past the wild-card round, losing to the Giants, 31-24.
