He was playing hide-and-squeak.

A New Yorker was left in disbelief when he realized he was harboring a furry stowaway from Brooklyn to the Catskills.

Film producer Kevin Coop had nearly made it to a campground wedding in the small hamlet of Roscoe when the rat climbed out from the engine and started riding the hood of his car, a moment he captured on video.

“Holy hell!” an incredulous Coop yelled as the rodent scurried onto his windshield.

“I just got to way upstate and I brought a f–king rat with me.”

After checking out the side of the car near Coop’s side-view mirror, the rat skillfully walked back to safety and across the windshield wipers.

That’s when the rat vanished as quickly as he appeared.

“S–t! Where’d it go?” Coop said.

Coop pulled the car over onto the side of the road and lifted the hood to try and find where the rodent had been hiding.

The rat had ridden to the Catskills all the way from Brooklyn.

The rat reappeared and brazenly raced across the exposed engine splash shield.

The animal ducked into a small hole and yet again completely disappeared from sight, proving how easily it managed to stay hidden for the roughly 130-mile trip to Sullivan County.

“Ew!” an off-camera witness summarized the realization.

Coop, however, couldn’t help but laugh at the absurd experience.

“I don’t know where it went!” he said before warning the rat: “Just don’t eat my wires!”
