The Rangers have been actively retooling early in NHL free agency.
After agreeing to a one-year deal with Stanley Cup-winning goalie Jonathan Quick to be their backup, the Blueshirts added two veterans to the lineup.
The Rangers announced they signed winger Blake Wheeler.
It’s a one-year, $800,000 contract with a max bounce of $300K, per The Post’s Mollie Walker.
They also reeled in Tyler Pitlick on a one-year, $787K contract to be a physical presence on the bottom six and the penalty kill.
