A Utah man is facing a grueling recovery from injuries he sustained when a truck crashed into his bedroom while he was sleeping.

Dodge Mulock, 22, was in his bed next to the window in his shared Pleasant Grove townhome when a driver behind the wheel of a pickup truck suffered a medical event and smashed through his wall on Nov. 27, KSL said.

“The impact blew him in the air and he landed over by the closet area where he was pinned against the bumper of the truck and the wall, and a whole bunch of debris on top of him,” Mulock’s aunt, Rochelle Kohl, told the outlet.

The Bay Area native suffered bone fractures, internal injuries and bleeding – has since undergone five surgeries at Utah Valley Hospital, she added.

He will also need to relearn how to walk.

“The recovery is going to be very challenging, tough, extensive. But, you know, we’re hoping that it’s filled with hope and optimism,” Kohl explained.

At the time of the accident, Mulock was studying at Utah Valley University and had a job, she said.

“He worked part time, and he was going — putting himself through college,” Kohl told KSL.

“He’s working through it the best he can,” she added of the 22-year-old’s current emotional condition.

Mulock’s family has started a GoFundMe to raise money for his recovery, and where they also provide regular updates on his treatment.

As of Friday, the campaign has raised over $26,000 of its $100,000 goal.
