Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night — but maybe booze.
A Florida mail worker was busted drunkenly driving her truck on the wrong side of the road — after someone on her route invited her in to a house party where she did shots, according to police.
United States Postal Service driver Katelyne Dye, 33, told cops that she had delivered mail to a home in Melbourne, Fl. when she was invited inside and had two shots of vodka, according to an affidavit obtained by ClickOrlando.
She then got back behind the wheel of her USPS truck, tossing out plastic cups as she zig-zagged down the road on April 12, at times on the wrong side, as seen in video shared by Fox 51.
Dye “appeared confused and disoriented” when she was pulled over — and field sobriety tests indicated she was “under the influence,” police said in the affidavit.
She then told police she was swerving in and out of traffic — with witnesses saying she almost hit several other vehicles — because she’d fallen asleep.
She claimed that the cups she was throwing out of the truck were only from her drinking water in a doomed bid to hide the smell of alcohol, the affidavit said.
Dye was booked at the Brevard County Jail and charged with driving under the influence. It was unclear if cops spoke to the person Dye claimed invited her in for shots.
USPS did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
