United States Special Counsel Jack Smith has sold his Nashville, Tennessee home amid the latest unprecedented indictments of former President Donald Trump, The Post can report.
Smith, 54, and his wife, the documentary filmmaker Katy Chevigny, listed their home right after Trump’s first indictment on June 8.
The modest three-bedroom, three-bathroom property hit the market on June 9 for $989,000.
Occupying 2,500 square feet, the residence closed just a month later, in July, for $975,000, records show.
Looks like Smith got a pretty nice profit from it too. The Post has reached out for comment on the deal.
Smith purchased the home in 2016 for $569,000 after he was hired as assistant US attorney in the Middle District of Tennessee, records show. He then became the acting US attorney in March 2017 upon the resignation of David Rivera.
The home briefly went up for rent at the end of 2018 for $3,100 per month when Smith resigned from the role to take on a four-year term as chief prosecutor for the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, Netherlands, to investigate possible war crimes in the Kosovo War.
Upon his return, in November 2022, he was hired by President Joe Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, as special counsel to oversee any investigations into Trump.
Built in 1930, the fully fenced home features hardwood flooring, granite countertops and exposed brick, according to the previous listing. The master suite features a rooftop deck.
Smith has been at the center of Trump’s two federal indictments.
Trump, who leads the 2024 GOP presidential primary field, pleaded not guilty to 37 counts related to his alleged improper retention of classified records from his presidency filed by Smith, which is being handled in Florida.
On Tuesday, Smith filed a second indictment against Trump alleging conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
Trump, 77, appeared in court on Thursday for the arraignment, in which he also pleaded not guilty.
