The Blueshirts didn’t play their best hockey, but still managed a sweep against a Caps team that snuck into the playoffs in the final days of the regular season.

It’s on to the Eastern Conference semifinals for Peter Laviolette’s squad as they likely will take on the Hurricanes, barring a miraculous Islanders comeback from a 3-1 deficit.

They will have to up their game against a Carolina team that has taken them seven games in the playoffs before.

The Blueshirts will have their work cut out for them.
