An unhinged man accused of shoving a married mom onto the tracks at a Manhattan subway station, breaking her leg, had just one evil thought in mind when he confronted his innocent victim, prosecutors charged Friday.
Bail was set at $250,000 for Samuel Junker, 41, at his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court for the alleged unprovoked assault Tuesday at the Chambers Street station in lower Manhattan.
Prosecutors argued Junker knew exactly what he wanted to do when he entered the subway station.
“His only aim from when he entered the subway station was to push the victim on the tracks and escape immediately,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Madeline Holbrook asserted.
Junker allegedly followed Wan Xu — a married mother-of-one on her way home after work — from the street to the southbound platform at Chambers Street, where he brazenly shoved Xu onto the tracks, according to prosecutors.
According to a complaint in the case, Junker made a quick escape out of the subway station, but was caught Thursday after a cop recognized him from a wanted poster — wearing the same red shirt he had on the night of the attack — during an unrelated stop in Lower Manhattan.
Xu told The Post she was so scared from the unprovoked attack that she may never ride the subway again.
“I was already afraid to take the train because of this happening,” Xu said from her Sunset Park, Brooklyn, apartment.
“I don’t know how I’ll ever take the train in the future.”
The 34-year-old mom suffered a fractured leg and other bruised from the attack, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors said they are investigating whether the attack was racially motivated.
Junker, who has prior convictions in Georgia for exposing his genitalia, faces a maximum sentence of 15 years if convicted.
His next court date is Sept. 6.
