Joe Jonas tried to “salvage” his four-year marriage to Sophie Turner before filing for divorce Tuesday, a source close to the family tells Page Six exclusively.

“Divorce was a last resort for Joe. He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls,” the insider says, further giving insight into the demise of their relationship.

“An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year. There’s a lot of noise out there, but it wasn’t a straw-that-broke-the-camel’s-back situation like it’s being reported.”

The insider adds the estranged couple, who tied the knot in 2019, had “many disagreements.”

“It just kept building, and Joe finally reached a point where he felt that he had exhausted all options to salvage the marriage,” the source notes.

One of those disagreements may have been their different lifestyle as a second source previously claimed that Turner’s partying may have led to their divorce.

“She likes to party; he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles,” the insider told TMZ Tuesday.

The Jonas Brothers frontman, 34, filed for divorce from the “Dark Phoenix” actress, 27, in Miami after four years of marriage, according to court docs obtained by Page Six.

In the docs, Jonas stated that his marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

Though the “Sucker” singer noted that his 3-year-old and 1-year-old daughters with Turner have been primarily living with him, he is seeking “shared parental responsibility.”

The estranged couple should have no problem when it comes to their assets due to their “ironclad” prenup that they reportedly signed weeks before their wedding.

In the prenup obtained by the Blast, Joe will “keep all of his royalties from the music” he made with his brothers, Kevin and Nick Jonas, as well as what he earned with his other band, DNCE.

Turner, on the other hand, will keep the money she made from “Game Of Thrones” and “any residuals from her acting career.”

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” star and the Grammy nominee will also keep any properties that they individually purchased before they said “I do.”

The only property that will be split between the couple will be their marital home.

This sudden change in relationship status may come as a surprise as reports of their impending split over “serious problems” only surfaced a few days ago.

It was then that fans noticed the “Cake By The Ocean” singer had not been wearing his wedding band during recent performances. Additionally, the “Do Revenge” star had also been noticeably absent from her husband’s gigs.
