The fans ran onto the field in the top of the fourth inning with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at the plate, delaying the game several minutes while security personnel restored order.

The first fan had been running through the outfield as security gave chase, with a security officer in a blue shirt coming from the first base side of the stadium to tackle the offender as other security guards arrived to detain the individual.

But as they subdued the first intruder, a security officer could be seen quickly getting up and sprinting towards the infield as it became clear that a second fan had jumped onto the field.

The second fan was in the infield when he was tackled by security and detained.

It was not clear if the people who ran onto the field were simply looking for attention or had any particular reason to do so.

The second fan appeared to have writing on the front of their shirt and a QR code on the back.

The Yankees trailed 6-3 at the time of the pause in the action and they appeared to benefit from the distraction.

In the following half inning, Aaron Judge hit a three-run home run off the left field foul pole to tie the game and they took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning off a Jazz Chisholm Jr. long ball.

The Yankees trail 0-2 in the series to the Blue Jays after defeating the Red Sox in the Wild Card round.

If the Yankees win on Tuesday night, they will play again on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium at 7:08 p.m.
