


Two people were fatally struck by cars within an hour of each other while trying to cross roadways in The Bronx and Queens, police said Sunday.
Domingo Dejesus, 64, suffered severe head trauma after the 63-year-old driver of a 2012 Chevy Impala crashed into him as he was crossing between Soundview and Lafayette Avenue in The Bronx around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, cops said.
Dejesus was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died.
The driver, who had been traveling northbound on Soundview, remained at the scene following the crash, and faced no immediate charges.
About an hour later, cops received a call about another man who was struck by a car when attempting to cross the road at the intersection of 76th Street and Broadway in Jackson Heights .
Police said the 48-year-old man also suffered severe head trauma after he was hit by a 39-year-old driving a 2023 BMW south on Broadway.
EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.
He was not immediately identified pending his family’s notification.
The driver remained at the scene following the crash, and there were no immediate arrests.
Both crashes are being probed by the New York City Police Department’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.
