Former President Donald Trump filed a defamation lawsuit against ABC News and George Stephanopoulos, claiming his reputation was tarnished by the anchor after he said Trump had been found liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll multiple times on-air.
A March 10 interview between South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace and Stephanopoulos went viral after Mace, a rape survivor, accused Stephanopoulos of trying to “shame” her for endorsing Trump after a jury found him liable for the sexual abuse of Carroll.
