NextImg:Trump rants Bragg should ‘indict himself’ over ‘illegal’ leaks of indictment details

Former President Trump called on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to be “IMMEDIATELY INDICTED” over what the 45th president claimed were illegal leaks tied to his indictment over alleged “hush money” payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Trump’s angry comments, made on Truth Social Monday night, appeared to be in response to a Yahoo! News report that said the ex-president will be charged with 34 felony counts of falsification of business records, according to a source familiar with the procedure of the former president’s Tuesday afternoon arraignment.

The report also revealed that Trump won’t have his mug shot taken as part of the charging process in the historic case.

“Wow! District Attorney Bragg just illegally LEAKED the various points, and complete information, on the pathetic Indictment against me,” Trump wrote. “I know the reporter and so, unfortunately, does he. This means that he MUST BE IMMEDIATELY INDICTED. Now, if he wants to really clean up his reputation, he will do the honorable thing and, as District Attorney, INDICT HIMSELF.”

The Post could not independently verify the full Yahoo! News report, but sources told The Post Monday night Trump would face at least 30 felony counts.

Trump, in a follow-up post on his social media site, called on Bragg to “resign, NOW!”

Trump is apparently holed up at his namesake Midtown tower where sources said he will stay until he leaves early Tuesday afternoon to surrender to law enforcement at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

The indictment against Trump was handed up by a grand jury that’s been investigating hush money payments made in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election that he won over Democrat and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Falsification of business records can be prosecuted in New York as a misdemeanor, but Bragg’s office raised the charges to Class E felonies on the grounds the conduct was meant to hide another underlying crime, the source told Yahoo! News.

The evidence of an underlying crime that bumped the charges up isn’t clear and won’t be revealed until the indictment is unsealed Tuesday, the outlet reported.
