Travis Kelce is thrilled to see himself in the newest sports comedy flick.
The star Chiefs tight end took to Instagram on Friday to promote “Happy Gilmore 2” on its release day on Netflix while also saying he was grateful for his cameo in the film.
“Man this live is crazy!!” Kelce wrote in the caption of his photo carousel. “Still so surreal I got this opportunity. @adamsandler SANDMAN!! Thank you brotha, for the opportunity and for giving us all ‘Happy Gilmore 2’! Everybody go check it out right now!”
Kelce’s post also included a picture of himself alongside Adam Sandler and snapshots of himself on the set of the movie.
In addition, Kelce also included pictures of him and latin pop artist Bad Bunny, who plays the role of Happy’s caddy in the film.
Sandler discussed the sequel on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday, where the pair opened up about the 3-time Super Bowl Champion’s role in the film.
Speaking to Travis and his brother Jason, Sandler had nothing but praise for the two.
“You guys just go, ‘All right, if I’m doing this, I might as well be great at this,’” Sandler said of the Kelce brothers. “Travis was locked in, he had to kind of be a bad guy.”
Sandler also gave insight on Kelce and Bad Bunny’s chemistry in the movie, saying that the two worked well together.
“You two guys were amazing together,” Sandler said. “He was so sweet, and you had to be a little bit of a louse to him. You didn’t like doing it because you love the guy. You had to be mean to Benito, but we got it done and you look cool.”
Kelce also praised Bad Bunny — whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — on the podcast, calling the 3-time Grammy Award winner “Funny as f–k.”
“It was just so much fun hearing the role and then Adam helping me like find the role on set and then just like it took me a second because looking at Bad Bunny in a scene it is hilarious, it is hilarious,” Kelce said.
“Bad Bunny is just naturally funny as f–k, and I don’t know if people aren’t around him enough. They are going to find out in ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ how funny this guy really is.”
