Travis Kelce told a classic story about how a brand new truck that was gifted to him from his brother, Jason, got stolen from a strip club the very same day he received it.
The conversation took place on the brothers’ “New Heights” podcast, with Shannon Sharpe as a guest on the show.
Given that Jason is two years older, he reached the NFL while Travis was still in college at the University of Cincinnati, and found himself in the position to give his younger brother a lavish gift.
“When he got to the league, he was working with a car dealership in Philly, [but before that] he had just bought a brand new F-150,” Travis recalled.
“Me being me, I totaled the car I had in college, so I was walking around on campus. He knew I needed a car, [so] he drives his F-150 down, knowing that he was gonna get a dealership car to ride around Philadelphia.”
So, naturally, the first place Travis took his new truck was to the strip club.
“I was like, ‘Oh man, I’ve got this really nice car.’ I wasn’t even traveling [before] because I had this kind of hooptie, that was just getting me to campus and back,” Kelce continued.
“So I take the car. Within the first 10 hours of me having the vehicle, I go up to Cleveland, visit the Boom Boom Room, went to the strip club, came back out, that car was gone.”
Travis Kelce, 33, is perhaps the greatest tight end of all-time and has won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs; Jason Kelce, 35, has played center for the Eagles since 2011 and is a five-time All Pro.
As the brothers reminisced, it became clear that Travis had originally lied to Jason about what happened with the car.
Jason interjected that Travis left the keys in the car, but Travis shared a crucial distinction.
“He didn’t tell me there was a spare key in the glove compartment,” Travis said. “I had the key, I just didn’t lock the car.”
