NextImg:Travis Kelce laughs off Aaron Rodgers’ ‘Mr. Pfizer’ jab: ‘Thought it was pretty good’

Travis Kelce has returned the jab in Aaron Rodgers’ direction.

Earlier this week, in his customary appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers quipped about how the Jets defense shut down “Mr. Pfizer,” referring to Kelce, who has appeared in commercials promoting the company’s COVID-19 vaccine.

“I thought it was pretty good,” Kelce laughed. “With the ‘stache, I look like a guy named Mr. Pfizer. Who knew I’d get into vax wars with Aaron Rodgers, man? Mr. Pfizer versus the Johnson & Johnson family over there.”

Regarding Johnson & Johnson, Jets owner Woody Johnson is an heir to the pharmaceutical company family’s fortune.

Rodgers has famously been skeptical of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Kelce did not seem to have the same concerns.

“Once I got the vaccine — I got it because of keeping myself safe, my family safe and the people in this building [safe] — so yeah I stand by it,” Kelce said. “One thousand percent.

“And I’m fully comfortable with him calling me ‘Mr. Pfizer.'”

Kelce has been impossible to avoid in recent weeks as his rumored girlfriend Taylor Swift has attended the Chiefs’ last two games.

He admitted he thinks the NFL broadcast partners have been “overdoing” the shots of Swift cheering on the Chiefs from a suite.

“They are overdoing it a bit for sure, especially my situation,” Travis told his brother, Eagles center Jason on their “New Heights” podcast earlier this week. “They’re just trying to have fun with it.”

He was informed that NBC showed Swift 17 times during Sunday night’s game against the Jets.

“Damn, that’s crazy,” Travis said. “That’s like once a drive.”
