Travis Kelce has been changed for the better by new fiancée Taylor Swift.
Speaking with Fox NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews on Sunday ahead of Kansas City’s Week 2 clash against the Eagles, the recently engaged Chiefs tight end opened up about how Swift “has brought excitement and a joy” to his life over the past two years.
“She has brought excitement and a joy for life that made me a better man, made me a better person, and made me that much more comfortable in who I am,” Kelce said.
First linked in 2023, Kelce popped the question to Swift, 35, in August after two years of dating — a moment that brought on a “few tears” for the three-time Super Bowl champ.
“There were a few tears here and there, but, just, telling her how much she’s meant to me since she’s been in my life. And how I want to spend the rest of my life with her,” Kelce, 35, told Andrews, who joined the couple on a offseason getaway earlier this year.
Now in his 13th NFL season, Kelce — eager to turn the page on a quiet 2024 campaign — still has a burning passion for the game, even as speculation mounts as to when he could possibly call it a career.
“I love what I do, I’m still a kid on Sundays that still enjoys every aspect of the game,” he said. “I built a family here and I don’t want to give that up yet, I still feel like I’ve got a lot to prove.”
The Chiefs are looking to avoid an 0-2 start after losing to the Chargers in their season-opener in Brazil.
Kansas City was throttled by Philadelphia this past February when the Eagles bested the defending champs in Super Bowl 2025, preventing a historic three-peat.
Kelce had a mere four receptions for 39 yards in the crushing 40-22 loss.
Kickoff between the Chiefs and Eagles gets underway Sunday at 4:25 p.m.
It’s been widely speculated Swift will be in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium after missing Week 1.
