NextImg:Travis Kelce gets creepy in first trailer for Ryan Murphy's "Hellish" murder mystery 'Grotesquerie'

FX unveiled its first full look at Ryan Murphy‘s new horror series Grotesquerie, and it seems like a chilling mystery is afoot.

Niecy Nash-Betts stars as Detective Lois Tryon, who becomes haunted by a series of heinous crimes that are plaguing her small town. While struggling with her husband’s deteriorating health and her own alcoholism, Detective Tryon joins forces with Sister Megan, a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian who has taken an interest in the case.

The plot summary reads, “Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”

The new official trailer shows Detective Tryon struggling to come ot terms with the violent murder she’s investigating. “You have to really hate people to do what was done here,” she says. “It’s inhuman. No, it’s unhuman.”

But the weirdest part of the trailer by far is Travis Kelce‘s special appearance.

“There is no future after this,” he ominously says in the trailer with a vacant look in his eyes.

Grotesquerie marks the Chiefs tight end’s acting debut. The NFL star has been open about wanting to break into acting, even if that means playing a caddy in Adam Sandler‘s upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel.

Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville and Micaela Diamond also star.

Murphy’s new collaborator Nicholas Alexander Chavez will also be starring as a young priest, Father Charlie Mayhew, who appears to catch Sister Megan’s eye. Chavez is also set to appear in Murphy’s upcoming crime series about the Menendez brothers, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Grotesquerie premieres with two new episodes Sept. 25 at 10/9C on FX. New episodes will stream on Hulu the next day.
