A co-founder of the Black Trans Liberation group said she is “sick and tired’’ of hearing about the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel and called top New York Dems “the real terrorists’’ at a Big Apple rally over the weekend.
“The reality is the people who are the real terrorists are sitting in office right now!” screamed trans activist Qween Jean at a crowd of fellow demonstrators, labeling the war in Gaza a “genocide.
“All they f–king do is they eat ice cream when they are asked … about the starving children in Gaza,” she said — an apparent reference to 81-year-old President Biden, who chowed down on ice cream while talking about the war last week.
Speaking at a “cease-fire now” rally Saturday — apparently part of Manhattan’s Millions March for Palestine protest — Jean then named and shamed New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, Gotham Mayor Eric Adams, US Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
“We are sick and tired of being told and reminded of the events of October 7,” Jean said — referring to the Palestinian terror group Hamas’s slaughter in Israel that killed more than 1,200 people, mostly civilians, left dozens more hostage and sparked the ongoing Mideast war.
“We will not stop until Palestine is free,” raged the activist with a rap sheet. “We are never assumed or afraid to say, ‘Free Palestine.’ “
Torres, 35, who represents New York’s 15th Congressional District, which encompasses The Bronx, took the pejoratives in stride.
“An Anti-Israel extremist is seen screaming that she is ‘sick and tired of being told and reminded about the events of October 7th.’ She then proceeds to scream that ‘Ritchie Torres is a terrorist,'” he responded on X,
“The true terrorists, she claims, are not those who commit terrorism (like Hamas) but those who condemn it,” Torres noted.
Torres, a staunch defender of the Jewish state, is no stranger to taking flak from his left flank for his stalwart support of Israel.
Jean co-cofounded the Black Trans Liberation protests alongside Joela-Abiona Rivera in 2020 after the murder of a black transgender woman.
She is a costume designer who moved to the US from Haiti and grappled with gender dysphoria while growing up.
The war in Israel has ruptured the country’s Democratic base, with some hardcore progressives such as Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) opposing Israel’s actions as it wages devastating war on Gaza, trying to root out the terror organization but killing thousands of civilians in the process.
Biden has been supportive of Israel but has slowly begun dinging the US’s key ally publicly, describing some of its military retaliation as “over the top.”
Politically, Biden was dealt a blow when more than 100,000 Michigan voters wrote “uncommitted” in the Feb. 27 Democratic primary in protest of his policies. Michigan has the largest Arab population of any state in the nation.
The infighting among US progressives poses potentially serious electoral challenges for the Democratic coalition ahead of the Nov. 5 general election.
Over the weekend, US C-130 cargo planes began dropping pallets of food and other critical supplies into the Gaza Strip after Biden authorized the move.
Biden has become increasingly vocal about his concerns for civilians caught in the crossfire and Palestinians who have faced dire conditions during the bloody conflict.
