Tori Kelly is reportedly doing better after she suddenly fainted and was hospitalized earlier this week.
The Sing actress shared an update on social media just days after her hospitalization, telling fans on Instagram today, “As you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges. It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers and can’t stop thinking about you.”
Kelly was hospitalized after she suddenly collapsed on Sunday (July 24) evening while she was out to dinner with friends in Los Angeles. They rushed her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors discovered blood clots in her lungs and legs.
The singer wrote that she was “feeling stronger now and hopeful” but “there are still some things to uncover.”
Early reports from TMZ claimed she was initially in “really serious” condition. She had been in and out of consciousness as doctors tried to determine if there were any blood clots by her heart, the outlet reported.
Kelly’s Thursday update comes just one day after her husband of five years, André Murillo, shared that she was on the mend.
“Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger,” he wrote in a post to his Instagram story . “Not out of the woods but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers.”

He also took a moment to thank her fans for their support during these scary times. “Your love and kindness has been overwhelming. Thank you so so much!” he wrote.
Kelly broke into the industry after starring on American Idol in 2010 when she was just 16 years old. While Kelly was eliminated before she made it to the Top 24, her debut album Unbreakable Hearts made the Billboard charts, and she went on to win two Grammy Awards for her gospel music.
Kelly’s fourth EP, titled tori, is still slated to release this Friday (July 28), though the singer mentioned in her letter that her hospitalization impacted the album rollout, including her plans for an album launch show at The Roxy in Los Angeles scheduled for this Friday.
“Of course I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first,” she wrote, before later adding, “I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday!”
According to their updates, it appears they’re still waiting “on a few more answers” regarding Kelly’s health.
