Tom Sandoval revealed on his new podcast that he decided to stop drinking alcohol after he and Raquel Leviss’ affair was exposed.
“I haven’t drank since — I believe it was April 4th or 5th,” he shared during Thursday’s premiere episode of “Everybody Loves Tom.”
“I didn’t really tell a lot of people during the process. I think that kind of helps. I also quit smoking cigarettes. I was kind of at the point where I was just chain-smoking cigarettes all day, every day.”
The “Vanderpump Rules” star said it got to the point where as soon as he finished his workouts he’d immediately start drinking.
“If I wasn’t working out, I was drinking,” he explained to his cover band’s drummer, Jason Bader. “If I wasn’t drinking, I was working out.”
Sandoval, 41, said he made the decision amid his band’s tour because his “nerves” were wrecked following the backlash of his cheating on longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix.
Pre-Scandoval, the podcast host would have “three shots, three beers” to calm his nerves. However, he went cold turkey and refused to have a drink or smoke despite the “angry” crowds.
“What really sucked, too, was seeing people like be really mean to the fellow band members,” he recalled, adding that their female lead singer, Maddie, would be “heckled beyond belief.”

Although Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras could have canceled their tour, the Bravolebrity confessed he “had” to follow through because he lost endorsements and projects such as “Winter House.”
“Honestly, I think that, you know, quitting the drinking, you know, and going on tour like it might have actually saved my life,” he said, adding that he decided to sober up the day Leviss, 29, checked into a mental health facility.
“I can’t imagine being cooped up because I couldn’t go anywhere at the time, you know, being cooped up in a place, not being able to do anything, just wallowing in misery.”
In episodes to come, Sandoval promises to share “juicy, behind-the-scenes [‘Pump Rules’] stories to discussions about music, fashion, cocktails and so much more.”
He’s also currently starring in Season 2 of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” which is airing on Fox. Sandoval is also in the process of filming Season 11 of “Pump Rules.”
