Aaron Rodgers is still a villain in the Motor City.
The Detroit Tigers, who play across the street from the Detroit Lions, a team Rodgers terrorized for years as the Packers’ quarterback, roasted Rodgers during Sunday’s 10-2 win over the Brewers.
The team asked during a fan trivia game whether Rodgers, a quarterback, or Jalen Reeves-Maybin, a Lions linebacker, completed more passes during the 2023 season.
With Rodgers tearing his Achilles just four snaps — and zero completions — into the 2023 campaign, the linebacker emerged triumphant by a 1-0 margin.
“Ruthless video board game at Comerica Park,” WXYZ’s Brad Galli tweeted with a caption of the photo.
While Lions fans may not hate Rodgers as much as Bears fans, they have plenty of reason to dislike the four-time league MVP.
Rodgers torched the Lions throughout his time with the Packers, going 18-8 against Detroit.
He completed 65 of his passes for an average of 252 passing yards per game, to go along with 54 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
The 40-year-old averaged a 105.1 passer rating against Detroit.
One of Rodgers’ greatest passes came against the Lions, a Hail Mary as time expired to down Detroit at Ford Field, 27-23, in Week 13 of the 2015 season.
The Lions did punch back at Rodgers at the end of his Packers run, winning their final three games against Rodgers while he donned the green and yellow.
That included a 20-16 win in Week 18 of the 2022 season that knocked the Packers out of the playoffs and ended Rodgers’ run in Green Bay.
The Packers then traded Rodgers to the Jets last offseason, where he didn’t even make it through one drive before suffering a season-ending injury.
That injury allowed Reeves-Maybin to win the battle of completed passes by virtue of his 31-yard completion in the Lions’ Week 17 loss to the Cowboys.
Rodgers will not face the Lions this year as he attempts his comeback tour and it’s uncertain if he will ever face Detroit again with the NFC North and AFC East not matching up again until 2026.
The Jets battle the Vikings this year in their lone cross-divisional matchup with the NFC North.
