Tiger Woods gave himself a chance to make the cut at the Masters.

Woods survived an up-and-down round, finishing with a 2-over par 74 and in a tie for 55th place when he completed his Thursday at Augusta National.

Woods was 3-over before making back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16.

However, his drive on 18 finished right outside a fairway bunker and forced him to hit an awkward second shot on his surgically-repaired ankle.

Woods’ shot ended in a greenside bunker and he was unable to get up and down, finishing his afternoon with a bogey.

Woods’ playing partner, Viktor Hovland, was the leader for most of the day and finished with a 7-under 65.
