One child’s trash is a college student’s home decor.

A University of Delaware student put her DIY skills to the test and transformed a children’s plastic kitchenette into a unique and stylish bar cart for herself and her roommates.

In a TikTok video that’s since racked up 2.5 million views, Lauren Bennett tore off the toy’s stickered details in favor of a bright pink paint job.

She also glued miniature pink cowboy hats and strung fairy lights to the makeshift bar cart and topped it off with a handmade, commemorative “UD” woodblock.

Bennett then made sure her project was fully stocked, adding several bottles of liquor, red solo cups and shot glasses to the counter.

“This is your sign to buy a play kitchen and upcycle it into a bar cart for your college apartment,” she captioned the video.

The comments section of the viral video was swarmed with other college students who were inspired to take on the same project.

“THIS IS MAGICAL,” one user wrote, telling another friend “we so need to do this.”

“Literally running to a garage sale,” another said.

One excited commenter said: “Not me about to do this for my ADULT APARTMENT.”

“Not to mention parents are always trying to get rid of these things,” another said.

Several commenters even offered constructive advice to the young DIY-er.

One woman suggested using the kitchen’s tiny sink to store ice, and another who offered the idea of placing it on a higher platform to make it more accessible during parties.
