What a buzzkill.
A thrift store benefiting a children’s charity in the United Kingdom was left with something of a mess on its hands after lusty locals refused to stop donating their used sex toys for resale.
The Barnardo’s branch in Gorseinon, Wales was forced to issue a public appeal over social media after sustaining an avalanche of adult items, as the store brings in underage volunteers, who often end up uncovering the naughty knobs and bobs while sorting through the donation pile.
“Could those of you who kindly donate please be mindful that we are a CHILDREN’S CHARITY and as such we have a range of ages on our wonderful volunteer team,” the organization wrote, per Wales Online. “We therefore ask that you refrain from donating your used and unused marital aids!”
The thrift store further attempted to deter the drop-off of any more kinky collectibles by claiming that they have security cameras set up at their donation sites.
“These items can be traced back to their owners,” they warned.
In an additional statement, a spokesperson for Barnardo’s said they were looking to receive items of a more G-rated nature.
“We’re always hugely appreciative of donations from the community — but it’s fair to say that these items aren’t quite the sorts of toys we’re looking for,” the spox stated.
The official did not disclose what kind of specific sex toys the Barnardo’s branch had received.
The thrift store approves the donation of used clothes, shoes, jewelry and books.
“This winter, frontline staff at Barnardo’s will be helping struggling children and families across Wales by providing them with essential items like food and clothing,” the spokesperson added. “The money raised from our shops helps us to carry on this vital work.”
But while Barnardo’s might block sex toy donations, some people don’t have an issue with using other people’s personal play items.
