Mike Evans came in clutch for one FanDuel Sportsbook bettor during “Thursday Night Football” between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills this week.
On fourth-and-10 with less than three minutes left in the game and the Bucs down by two touchdowns, quarterback Baker Mayfield tossed a dime to Evans in the end zone, just above the hands of Bills corner Christian Benford.
The play gave Tampa Bay a prayer in the game, but also gave this sports gambler perhaps the biggest win of their life.
The touchdown score cashed a three-part, anytime touchdown parlay, which dolled out more than $163,000 on a $5,000 wager — a +3173 bet.
The parlay also needed both Bills rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid, who scored his first career touchdown on a 22-yard pass from Josh Allen in the second quarter, and wide receiver Gabe Davis to get into the end zone.
As is, the parlay was an incredible hit, but even more so considering how many times the Buccaneers looked dead in the water late in the fourth quarter.
After getting the ball back with about ten minutes left in the game, Tampa Bay put together a 17-play, 92-yard drive to set up Mayfield’s pass to Evans.
The Buccaneers got some help from two fourth down penalties on the Bills, keeping the drive alive when they couldn’t get it done themselves.
It wasn’t quite enough to give Evans and the Bucs a win, but this bettor came out on top.
