NextImg:Thousands of Guava strollers recalled due to dangerous brake issue: ‘Frustrating and inconvenient’

About 8,500 Guava Family baby strollers have been recalled due to issues with their brakes.

The Roam First Generation Strollers were found to have brakes that could either not engage or disengage, which could lead to injury, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced.

The potentially dangerous products were made between July 2020 and December 2021 and sold from August 2020 to October 2023 for between $500 and $550 on the company’s website, as well as Babylist.com, the CPSC said.

They are listed as Model No 2205000.

They’re foldable strollers with a black frame and the Guava logo printed in gray.

Strollers manufactured in 2022 or later are unaffected.

Users have been instructed to stop using the strollers and contact Guava Family for a repair kit including a stroller frame, seat unit and seat pad, and stroller canopy all pre-installed along with instructions.

Old frames should be destroyed.

“Your little one’s safety is at the heart of everything we do at Guava Family,” the company said in a statement.

“We understand recalls are frustrating and inconvenient, and we’re very sorry to ask this of you. But we believe it’s important to take this step to ensure the safety of you and your little ones.”
