In Choose Love, Cami Conway’s love life is in your hands. Yes, literally, your hands. The new Netflix romantic comedy is getting the Black Mirror: Bandersnatch treatment, allowing viewers at home to determine who Cami should end up with when she’s faced with the impossible choice of three love interests: her dreamy, steady boyfriend; a sexy British rockstar; or her first love.
“Is it just FOMO and the fear of commitment that goes with it?” the show’s official description reads. “Or is she actually missing out on an even better career, perhaps the long abandoned singing career she once dreamed of?”
In the trailer, Cami appears to be at an impasse in her life. She’s fine with her job, but she doesn’t love it. She has a loving boyfriend, but her eye begins to stray when she runs into her childhood crush.
And that’s not all — the universe manages to throw another wrench into her love life when Cami finds herself crossing paths with Rex Galier, celebrated English rockstar, at a recording studio.
Viewers will be tasked with steering Cami through this new path of her love life – and all the impossible decisions that come with it.
Who hasn’t finished a romantic comedy and felt that the main character should have ended up with the other guy, instead? This is a refreshing take on the genre, allowing viewers to create their own storyline and happily ever after.
It’s also a chance to see Avan Jogia‘s attempt at an English accent.
Choose Love will be the latest interactive title to join Netflix’s library, after Cat Burglar and Headspace: Unwind Your Mind. It stars Laura Marano, who some may remember from The Royal Treatment, as well as Scott Michael Foster and Jordi Webber.
The screenplay was written by Descendants writer Josann McGibbon. McGibbon is also attached as an executive producer, along with Sweet Tooth EPs Mel Turner and Axel Patton.
