We’re cool as ice, baby.
Trendy ice facials and cold therapy can reduce inflammation, brighten skin tone and counter puffiness — and who wouldn’t want a little chill during the heat of summer? That was the inspiration behind Peter Thomas Roth’s newest product, the Water Drench Ice-Facial Cooling Mist.
The latest launch from the Kyle Richards-approved Water Drench range, the fine mist is chock-full of skincare heroes: hyaluronic acid for hydration, skin-loving antioxidants, and caffeine and peppermint to tone and de-puff.
And there are so many ways to use it, from beach days to immediate relief from hot flashes.
It’s powered by IceAwake Activating Technology for “an energizing cooling effect to help revive the look of tired skin,” according to the brand. The spray is clinically proven to reduce skin temperature, and though you should close your eyes before misting, it’s also ophthalmologist-tested and fine to use over makeup.
While only released recently, the product already has plenty of fans; just check TikTok, where it’s become a viral favorite. As board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Prem Tripathi points out, it’s a good choice for people with melasma, which he says “is not only UV light sensitive but also heat sensitive.”
By reducing the skin’s temperature, you can also combat redness caused by heat, Tripathi shared in a branded post. The doc even uses it on clients after laser procedures.

Perimenopausal and menopausal women can also find relief in the cooling mist, as noted on Oprah Daily, where the mist is rated the best quick fix for hot flashes.
One Nordstrom shopper found another use, writing in her five-star review, “This has become my favorite post-workout pick-me-up,” and adding, “My skin feels more hydrated and looks great.”
Looking to dip into the other Water Drench products without getting too spendy? We spotted this summer-travel-ready set that includes the moisturizer, eye patches and day cream with SPF in a cute pouch for under $50.

It’s 88 degrees in June on the East Coast today — grab your cooling spray and don’t suffer the hottest parts of the year unarmed.
