Tyrod Taylor delivered the most painful Jets loss of the past 10 years. Now, the team is turning to him to kick-start their season.

The 36-year-old Taylor will make his first start for the Jets on Sunday against the Buccaneers after coach Aaron Glenn announced Wednesday that starter Justin Fields will miss the game with a concussion.

Jets fans know what Taylor is capable of. He was the quarterback on the final day of the 2015 regular season when it felt like it was 24 degrees outside in Buffalo and Taylor and the Bills put the Jets playoff hopes on ice, where they have remained ever since. Taylor led the Bills to a 22-17 victory with 182 passing yards and a rushing touchdown.

Ten years later, Taylor is still going. He has bounced around the league since ending the Bills playoff drought in 2017, moving on to the Browns, Chargers, Texans and Giants before arriving in Florham Park in 2024.
