In a divine tale of creativity and ambition, a couple’s quest for more — and affordable — space for their growing family led them to an extraordinary endeavor, transforming an abandoned church into their dream residence.

Sharing their remarkable renovation journey via their TikTok channel, @bb_acres, Alex and her husband divulged the challenges and triumphs of converting the 1973-built house of worship — nestled on a sprawling 3-acre plot in Reno, Nevada — into their cherished abode.

When they first acquired the property, the church still retained its original features, such as pews, an altar and a pulpit.

For this couple, the church held sentimental value, resonating deeply due to the countless beautiful memories it harbored. Local anecdotes from community members recounting weddings held within its walls further fueled their desire to breathe new life into this historic building.

Their journey, which they have documented on the social media platform, has racked over up more than 6.5 million views.

The vast 4,000-square-foot space, affectionately termed their “chouse,” even boasted a spire on its roof, adding a touch of character to their ambitious project.

Undertaking extensive renovations, the couple dedicated themselves tirelessly, citing the picturesque views of nature as to why they fell in love with the property in the first place.

Despite a year and a half passing since the property’s purchase, the transformation remains a work in progress.

Yet significant strides have been made. Walls have been painted, floors tiled, and the once ecclesiastical space now features five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Opting for a chic black and white theme, the couple adorned the interior with white furniture complemented by sleek black handles.

Notable additions include a double-headed shower with stunning grey stone tiles.

Downstairs, the vast open-plan layout showcases a sizable kitchen island and string lights dangling from the ceiling. Outside, a patio equipped with a grill promises fun warm-weather evenings entertaining friends and family.

The couple’s TikTok audience poured into the comments section, showering praise on their ambitious renovation project.

One user exclaimed, “WOW, it’s better than I imagined. It’s gorgeous!”

Another chimed in, “The best foundation to build a home on. Beautiful. Congrats.”

A third admirer gushed, “The space…… I just love it.”
