NextImg:This bookcase hopped off my Pinterest board and is now 20% off after Prime Day

Guilty as charged: I’ve developed a full-blown obsession with arched bookcases.

It started innocently enough: just a casual scroll through Pinterest, where I spotted one gracefully curved bookcase, perfectly styled with neutral-toned ceramics and leafy trailing plants. The kind of piece that reads, “I read and have taste.

Next thing I knew, I was twenty pins deep in arch-shaped furniture inspiration, spiraling through elegant displays and dreamy nooks. Not to be dramatic, but the arch wasn’t a trend — it was a calling.

Naturally, when Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days rolled around and the mopio Lauren Tall Arched Bookcase went 20% off, I knew what I had to do. I had to redecorate my parents’ new house, my best friend’s new apartment, and send it to pretty much everyone on my contacts list. Because when you own one similar and you’re still obsessed with how much character it brings to a space, you need to spread the word.

Amazon

And listen, this is not just some cute little shelf. The mopio Lauren is a statement. Tall — 77.4 inches, to be exact — commanding attention with its cathedral-like arch and structured lines. It has five roomy shelves up top and a closed cabinet below, which means you can put your prettiest things on display while hiding the less glamorous clutter (looking at you, printer paper and extra candles).

It comes in a warm oak finish that somehow blends that cozy-modern balance perfectly. And, at 36 inches wide and 16 inches deep, it’s substantial without swallowing a whole wall. Honestly, it’s giving serious boutique hotel lobby energy.

As noted, I had already picked up a similar arched piece earlier this year for my home office — a slightly shorter one, just to dip my toes into the curved-shelving life. Ever since, I’ve been walking past it every day, low-key admiring its shape like it’s an art piece. That subtle arch makes the whole space feel more elevated, more intentional. It softens the room without trying too hard.

And now, with the mopio version on the way, I’m dreaming up where it has potential to live in your home; maybe in the dining area with cookbooks and a ceramic lamp, or in the hallway for a dramatic little vignette moment.

I’ve probably looked at every arched shelving unit the site has to offer: metal ones with minimalist frames, rustic ones with wood grain that looks like it came out of a Nancy Meyers movie, even ones with fluted glass doors. It’s not even about needing furniture at this point. It’s about the joy of the aesthetic.

Arched bookcases just hit different. They bring movement into a space, guiding your eye upward in this almost architectural way. They’re sculptural but subtle, modern but warm. I’ve seen them styled in every kind of interior — mid-century, coastal, Japandi, industrial chic. Somehow, the arch belongs in all of them. I think it’s because curves feel inherently inviting. They take the edge off of a room, both literally and emotionally.

As for the mopio Lauren, even without the sale, it’s reasonably priced for what it offers. But that 20% off during Prime Big Deal Days? That made it irresistible. I keep imagining how I’ll style it once it’s assembled. Maybe a row of linen-bound books, a couple of stacked coffee table tomes, some sculptural vases, a trailing pothos, and — just to stay on-theme — a small arched mirror or two (yes, I channeled my inner interior designer and picked out this one for my parents’ entryway). Is that too much arch? Can you even have too much arch?

So if you’ve been eyeing an arched bookcase and you see the mopio Lauren on sale again, don’t overthink it. Join the arch life. Lean into the curve. Because once you start down this path, it’s hard to go back to basic rectangles. And really, why would you want to?

This annual Amazon sale — which we like to call October Prime Day — is similar to the well-known July event: it’s a two-day blow out shopping event with deep discounts on bestsellers and everyday essentials. But the timing of this sale makes all the difference; shoppers can also score pre-Black Friday deals on top-rated toys and sell-out-risk gifts before the holiday rush.

Technically, Prime Big Deal Days 2025 ended on Wednesday October 8 at 11:59 p.m. PT. But fortunately for professional procrastinators (you know who you are), Amazon extended tons of the best deals of the sale, so Prime members can continue to reap discounts.

Prime Big Deal Days is a member-exclusive sale event. Interested shoppers can grab a 30-day free trial to try Prime, and its many benefits, with no strings attached.

Already familiar with July Prime Day? Then you’ll love Amazon’s fall version! Like its summer spectacular sale, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days offers major discounts for 48 hours, but with a bigger focus on holiday gifts, toys and tech to shop ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

From reporting on Amazon sales for years, we can tell you for certain that October Prime Day is the ideal period to stock up on household essentials, score great deals on gift-worthy items and toys, take advantage of Black Friday-level discounts on tech and appliances, refill your skincare empties, and comb through the massive catalog of Amazon best-sellers.

We certainly think so! October Prime Day is a great chance to score Black Friday-worthy deals on thousands of best-sellers, including everything from big-ticket tech to Post reader-favorite trash bags. Our team diligently sorts through all the offers to find you the very best items to grab on sale.

Already wondering when Amazon’s next Prime Day is? Prime Day takes place in July each year, so it’s safe to assume it will take place in mid-July 2026 — similar to previous years. Can’t wait to shop more Amazon deals? Look out for Amazon’s Black Friday sales to kick off the holiday season in November.
