Well, folks, eclipse season is upon us, when change is afoot and the unexpected tests our mettle and tweaks our t–ts.
On September 7-8, we’ll be under the skies and the influence of a total lunar Blood Moon eclipse in Pisces.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth casts its shadow completely over a full moon.
The reddish appearance of the lunar surface is caused by rays of sunlight around the outer edge of the eclipse shadow, or umbra, being filtered and refracted as they pass through Earth’s atmosphere —casting the moon indirectly in a dim, coppery glow.
The lunar eclipse will start at 11:28 a.m. EST, and totality will happen at 1:30 p.m. EST.
While much of the world will witness this celestial, arterial wonder — the US will miss the show, as the moon will be below the horizon and on the opposite side of the Earth during that time.
Eclipses tend to trigger major revelations, breakups, and breakthroughs. What at first may feel, to paraphrase Mary Oliver, like a box full of darkness, will eventually be revealed as the kind of gift we would never ask for but ultimately need.
And while we might not be able to see the moon turn red, we will certainly be able to feel it.
“Eclipse season acts like an orthopedic surgeon, carefully cutting us open to ensure the bones are set and aligned so that the healing process can begin. These are the following signs most impacted by the upcoming Pisces eclipse,” the brilliant astrologer Babs Cheung told The Post.
According to Cheung, the mutable signs and those with major mutable placements will be hit hardest by the full moon lunar eclipse in Pisces.
“If you have Sun, Moon, or Rising in Pisces, this eclipse is a powerful emotional reset. You may feel
called to release old wounds, embrace spiritual practices, or set healthier boundaries — especially in
relationships,” astrologer and spiritual advisor Letao Wang told The Post.
“Avoid escapism; instead, channel Pisces’ creativity into art, meditation, or healing work,” Wang said.
Cheung seconds this advice, telling the people of the fish that they see illusions and projections fall and truth and clarity rise under the light of this eclipse.
Comfortable? Not always. In the service of personal progress? Undoubtedly.
“Virgo placements will feel some destabilization,” shared Cheung.
“This Pisces eclipse will bring about an emotional auditing of relationships, the people we are most drawn to and attract — and our attachment styles.”
Wang notes that for team Virgo, this eclipse is a summons to “balance meticulous analysis with trust in the unseen, particularly when it comes to your relationships and marriage.”
His advice? Make like a fish and do right by body and mind by releasing rigidity and embracing fluidity.
For Sagittarius folks, Cheung shared that this is an exercise in leaning to shift “without losing their s–t.”
Because this eclipse is hitting their fourth house of foundations, patterning, and the ties that bind, there could be a skirmish or three on the home front.
“Expect late-night kitchen treaties or dining room battle royales. And let me hold your hand while saying this, but maybe don’t host that fall dinner party until after eclipse season unless you’re fine with performing some masterpiece theatre for your guests.”
For Gemini, the lunar eclipse activates their tenth house of career, legacy, paternalism and public perception.
“Expect authority figures (hint: bosses) to get especially on your nerves with last-minute work or responsibility that’s been passed onto you, ‘because you’re such a good team player,'” said Cheung.
She cautions mercurial Geminis to remain calm lest they lose their cool and their health insurance.
“Unless you have another job lined up (which is so Gemini of you), breathe through and grab support where you can.”
