In the wake of losing Juan Soto, the Yankees solved their need for an outfielder with some lefty pop in acquiring Cody Bellinger.

To compensate for some of the loss in run production — they hope — they signed Paul Goldschmidt to play first base.

Because their greatest strength in 2024 — their offense — will be dulled next season, they have attempted to assemble a superior pitching staff with Max Fried as an imposing No. 2 and Devin Williams at the back of a bullpen that is a good bet to lead the majors in strikeouts.

Brian Cashman and his front office have filled plenty of holes but not all. A notable void left untouched is the jump-starter of the offense.
