NextImg:The week in whoppers: Whoopi Goldberg insults female athletes, Financial Times’ columnist claims Biden left a ‘perfect economy’ and more

“Trump inherited pretty much the perfect economy.”  — Financial Times’ Edward Luce, Tuesday

We say: Ah, yes, the “perfect” combo of still-toxic, sky-high interest rates and jobs numbers constantly (and quietly) being revised down.

Under Biden, lefties shrieked “the economy is good, actually!” as Americans struggled to afford groceries and gas.

That’s one major reason Democrats lost. Yet media lapdogs are still trying to sell Bidenomics.

“When you come in and you say ‘these are men competing against women,’ you’re assuming that the women are weak.” — Whoopi Goldberg, Monday

We say: What an insult to the many women who have rightly called out the insanity of being forced to compete against biological males.

Recognizing that men usually have a physical advantage isn’t a knock against women; it’s a scientific fact. Female athletes should be able to compete on a level playing field.

THEN: “About a third of all of the spending that’s done in Medicare, Medicaid. . . doesn’t go to good healthcare. It goes to other things.” — Sen. Chuck Schumer, 2010

NOW: “The richest man on earth repeated again a bevy of lies that entitlement programs . . . are riddled with fraud and abuse.” — Sen. Chuck Schumer, Tuesday

We say: Rank partisanship at its finest!

Schumer once believed Medicare and Medicaid were rife with “waste, fraud and abuse” and criticized politicians who resisted cutting anything from entitlement programs.

But now that Elon Musk is calling for reform, Chuck’s become the no-cuts politician he once slammed.

“Delta slashes profit forecast because of declining air travel. Trump’s recession? Or Musk’s wave of airplane crashes?” — David Frum, Monday

We say: Or maybe Delta’s profit forecast is down because one of its planes crash-landed and caught on fire in a recent, hyper-viral video.

And it happened in Canada, well outside DOGE’s purview. Frum knows all of this, but obsessive hacks never miss a chance to blame Trump & Co.
