NextImg:The week in whoppers: Ben Stiller thinks Kamala Harris will bring about ‘change,’ Sen. Chris Murphy flips the script on border security and more

“Republicans don’t support . . . addressing the border.”

— Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Monday

We say: Hello? The border was under control when a Republican (Donald Trump) ran the White House.

It wasn’t until Joe Biden and the Democrats started calling the shots that illegal migrants began crossing over in record numbers.

“Asylum seekers” even cite Biden’s “invitación” as their reason for rushing in. More ironic: Murphy insisted he “can’t make up a story that’s not true” — even as he made up that completely untrue story.

“[Trump will] enact a nationwide abortion ban, with or without Congress.”

— VP Kamala Harris, Aug. 22

We say: We get it: Harris’ record is so awful she can only hope to win votes by scaring voters (liberals) about an imaginary abortion ban.

Trouble is, Trump has said repeatedly he backs the Supreme Court’s decision to let states decide the issue — and that he’d veto a national ban if Congress somehow managed to pass it.

“Trump’s border wall is just a stupid use of money. I will block any funding for it.”

Harris, 2017

vs.

“If she’s elected president, Kamala Harris pledges to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall.”

Axios, Tuesday

We say: Harris has mocked Trump’s border wall endlessly, calling it a “medieval vanity project.”

As Biden’s border czar, she did nothing to extend it, even as millions of migrants flooded in. Now that Americans are furious over the horrific result, she’s pretending she’d finally get tough.

Sorry: She won’t fool anyone.

“[I’m] very excited about [Harris] . . . because it’s time for change.”

— Actor Ben Stiller, in a video posted Wednesday

We say: Change? Does Stiller really think going from Harris-Biden to Harris-Walz will yield serious change?

Harris has made clear she’ll continue the inflation-goosing federal outlays, woke policies and other pain of the past four years.

Only voters longing for more of the same — price hikes, border chaos, crime, wars — should feel “excited.”
