When Taylor Swift is spotted out on the town, it’s automatically a trending topic, but when she’s seen with someone she shares an ex-boyfriend with? You know it’s breaking news. As such, The View had no choice but to cover Swift and Sophie Turner‘s recent New York City outing after the duo was spotted on a girls’ night leaving Via Carota on Tuesday (Sept. 19).

Turner is in the midst of a divorce from Jonas — whom she was married to for four years — and Swift dated the boy band member back in 2008. Naturally, The View wondered, should two exes hang out together? The panel was split.

“It’s always a good thing when the Queen of the North and the queen of pop get together,” Alyssa Farah Griffin opined, hinting at Turner’s Game of Thrones legacy.

Joy Behar was a bit more blunt, naturally, suggesting “the two of them are probably trashing Joe Jonas,” but Sara Haines wasn’t so sure, suggesting the pair could be friends despite their shared romantic past, not because of it.

When she said that she would not discuss a mutual ex if she and her friends had dated the same person, Sunny Hostin wasn’t convinced. She grilled Haines, “Would you do that?” before noting, “You’ve seen the same person naked,” while making a disgusted face.

She later seemed to join Behar’s bandwagon when she suspected the two women were “talking trash” about Jonas together. Behar doubled down, too, wisely telling the audience, “It’s entirely normal for friendships to be based on mutual hatred.”

She went on to explain, “I’ll get some blowback for this, but I think the MAGA crowd, the base, they hate the same people that Trump hates … that is the whole basis of their success with Trump.”

As Behar launched into a dialogue about abortion rights, Whoopi Goldberg tried to nudge her back on track, asking, “What about Sophie?” While Behar brushed her off, Griffin took her words to heart, steering the chat back to Turner as she argued, “Taylor Swift is hardly hung up on Joe Jonas,” making her outing with Turner automatically less juicy.

But Hostin being Hostin, she disagreed with her co-host, wondering, “Are they comparing notes? I don’t like the feel of it.”

Looks like she’s in the minority here — according to CNN, anyway, who reports that the internet was “delighted” by Turner and Swift’s hang.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
