Alyssa Farah Griffin has a good reason to be fearful of the 2024 presidential election — and, more specifically, if Donald Trump gets a second term.
On this morning’s episode of The View, the co-hosts reflected on Wednesday’s (Jan. 17) interview with Kamala Harris, in which the Vice President admitted she’s “scared as heck” that Trump might beat President Joe Biden this fall.
“Kamala — she’s not personally scared,” Joy Behar clarified today. “She’s scared for the country. Because the country will have a problem if [Trump is] in office.”
She added, “And he also will go after his enemies,” before gesturing to the five co-hosts and exclaiming, “Hello!”
Meanwhile, Sara Haines joked, “I think Alyssa’s at risk the most,” prompting Griffin to cheekily hide her face.
Griffin previously worked as the press secretary for Former Vice President Mike Pence and as Special Assistant to Trump, before becoming the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and the Press Secretary for the Department of Defense in 2019. The following year, she was appointed as the White House Director of Strategic Communications.

Griffin ultimately resigned from her position in the Trump administration in late 2020 and has since spoken out against the former president, who has lobbed insults her way in turn.
“Backbencher in the Trump Administration, Alyssa Farah, like so many other sleazebags, had only glowing reviews of the Trump Administration until long after she left,” he wrote on Truth Social in May 2023, per The Wrap. “A loser then, and a loser now!”
Before closing out the Hot Topic segment on today’s episode, Behar once again poked fun at the co-host for “turn[ing]” on Trump.
“Kayleigh McEnany, who is a conservative girl and former White House [Press Secretary],” she said, before turning to Griffin and stating, “She’s not like you where she turned on him. She’s still in there with him.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
