This morning’s episode of The View took an NSFW turn during a conversation about a naughty new AI feature.
According to the second Hot Topics segment of the episode, the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT can now send lonely adult users dirty text messages.
“I’ve been trying to understand this topic,” Joy Behar began. “In the old days, when you wanted to have phone sex, you didn’t have sex with the phone. I don’t understand the topic.”
She added, “Get a blowup doll if you’re that desperate!”
Whoopi Goldberg, for her part, was concerned that young children would be able to find their way around the age restrictions and use the sexting tool themselves.
“Remember, your kids are years ahead of you with all of this,” Goldberg warned. “All the things you think you’re keeping them from doing, you’re not. They know how to do it. They’ve been able to get around everything.”
“It’s very, very important for us to recognize our responsibility,” she continued. “Nobody wants to be mean to their kids, nobody wants to piss their kids off. But you know what? You’re gonna have to.”
Sunny Hostin complained that the new feature would “ruin” ChatGPT, which she frequently uses for other reasons, while Sara Haines questioned if its new ability to sext is part of a bigger “loneliness problem.”
The segment, however, turned awkward when a producer sent Goldberg the signal to go to commercial break.

“I see you,” she said. “I see what you’re trying to do. We’re trying to talk about sex and you want to move me. Alright. Alright!”
“He wants to get it over with,” Goldberg added, putting clear emphasis on her comment’s double entendre. “Well, at least he didn’t call me to finish too soon.”
The camera flashed to the producer, who uncomfortably shook his head as he laughed off Goldberg’s joke.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
