Sunny Hostin is gearing up for the “legal nerd’s Super Bowl” — otherwise known as Donald Trump‘s hush money trial. However, The View co-host was concerned that the former president’s followers would “sneak” onto the jury by claiming they “hate” him, which could ultimately let him off the hook.
On this morning’s episode of the long-running daytime talk show, Hostin raised questions about the legal team’s ability to find an unbiased jury in Trump’s case — especially when everyone has heard of him.
“Fifty people said, ‘I can’t even be impartial,’ which I admire them for their forthrightness and their honesty, because you have to be honest when you’re a juror,” she said. “But I still believe that they will be able to find an impartial jury. They are never gonna find someone that doesn’t know about the former twice-impeached loser president.”
Trump is currently on trial for allegedly falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels that was meant to keep her quiet about their alleged affair. He has denied the allegations, and pleaded not guilty to all 34 counts, per NBC News.
Hostin noted that it will be “really, really important” for the legal team to check “the jurors’ social media profiles to see if they can assess the truthfulness and intention of what they said” during their questioning.

“If you start liking Trump’s [posts] and you follow Trump’s stuff on social media, can you be impartial?” she asked. “I don’t really think so.”
What the former prosecutor was more worried about, however, was that Trump supporters would try to “sneak” onto the jury and sway the verdict to work in his favor.
“How do you sneak on?” Joy Behar asked, to which Hostin replied, “You lie. You say, ‘I hate Trump. But I can be impartial.’ And then all of a sudden that’s the person that won’t vote to convict.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
