Joy Behar never misses an opportunity to take a swipe at President Donald Trump.

On this morning’s episode of The View, the co-hosts talked about the 10 inmates who recently escaped from a New Orleans prison through a hole behind a toilet.

“How many of them are still at large? Maybe they could be in Trump’s cabinet,” Behar joked, seemingly referring to Trump appointing convicted felons like Peter Navarro and Charles Kushner to his administration. Not to mention, Trump was found guilty on 34 felony charges in his hush money trial last year.

With five inmates still on the run, the ladies wondered why this story had captivated so many Americans.

“Years and years ago, people would go to jail for murder. And now we find out, they’re there for 25 years, and they were incorrectly put there,” Behar said. “So now that we have DNA, we know more. And I think that people are thinking: I wonder if these guys really did what they did. It’s like the government. We’re confused. What’s real? What’s not real? What’s true?”

The men who escaped from jail ranged from 19 to 42 years old, according to CBS News. They were already facing charges including aggravated assault, domestic abuse battery, and murder.

“Most of them, not all of them, have convicted violent offenses,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said. “That’s what, I think, captured peoples’ attention because there’s that fear of, they’re out on the streets. Some of them may have been multi-time offenders.”

A maintenance man who worked at the jail has also been arrested for turning off the water and allegedly assisting in their escape, though Sunny Hostin explained that the inmates allegedly threatened to kill or shank him if he didn’t do what they said.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
