Ana Navarro is calling BS on the narrative surrounding President Donald Trump‘s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

On this morning’s episode of The View, the ladies continued to discuss the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files. Navarro claimed that the Department of Justice, specifically Deputy Attorney General Pam Bondi, is trying to “throw any bone they can at the MAGA base and Americans asking questions” by requesting to speak with Epstein’s incarcerated accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, despite already having “a bulk of information readily available at the Department of Justice.”

“They are not doing it because, for some reason, there is something there that they don’t want released,” she speculated.

Navarro also wanted to remind viewers that while Trump and the deceased sex offender are often called former “associates,” they were actually much closer than that.

“I keep hearing in the media, Trump supporters, and even media folks refer to them as ‘associates.’ I call bullshit on that,” Navarro said, with producers chiming in to cut out her audio. “They were not associates. They were incredibly close friends for 15 years.”

“There’s all sorts of pictures of them partying together, socializing, they flew in each other’s planes, Epstein attended Trump’s wedding,” she continued. “This is not an associate. This is not a colleague. This is not an acquaintance. They were very close friends.”

However, Alyssa Farah Griffin was skeptical of Navarro’s notion that Trump might’ve played a part in Epstein’s crimes, especially since previous lawmakers could’ve released the files if there was actually some sort of proof.

“We do know that the Department of Justice has [Trump’s] name in the Epstein files. That’s been reported by the Wall Street Journal. We also know that the Department of Justice had that in the entirety of the Biden administration,” she said. “I have a hard time believing—I know how high in esteem you all hold Joe Biden in—that his Justice Department had evidence that Donald Trump committed one of the most horrific crimes you could and did not pursue that, if they had that evidence.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
