There’s only one person angrier than President Joe Biden behind closed doors, and that’s Joy Behar when Republicans claim the economy is bad. During this morning’s episode of The View, the longtime co-host put Alyssa Farah Griffin in her place when it came to her stance on the current state of America’s economy.

At the start of the Hot Topics segment, the women discussed a recent Axios report alleging that Biden has a bad temper — something with which Sara Haines, a mom of three young children, sympathized.

“Imagine waking up being President Biden: You’re too old still, the economy sucks, the border’s open, your son’s a mess, what about that grandchild you don’t claim, he broke royal protocol with King Charles,” she listed. “Every way he turns he does something wrong — he is allowed to get mad.”

While Haines offered a lengthy list of popular headlines about the POTUS, Behar clung to the point she made about the economy.

“This whole notion that the economy is in bad shape — it’s not,” she said. “That’s not true.”

Meanwhile, Griffin, who is the only Republican on the panel, argued that consumer prices have risen 15% over the previous two years of Biden’s presidency — which only infuriated Behar more.

“In the world. In the world!” she fumed. “We have overcome inflation better than any country in Europe since the pandemic.”

Despite Behar’s rebuttal and Sunny Hostin attributing inflation to the COVID-19 pandemic, Griffin didn’t back down from the heated exchange.

“I’m just saying I think for people who are struggling to afford to make ends meet, it’s not good to just go out and say, ‘The economy is good. Look at how much better it’s doing,'” she said, to which Behar snapped, “Well, then don’t blame somebody who shouldn’t be getting the blame!”

Griffin then insisted that today’s inflation isn’t only from the “pandemic era,” but is also the result of “continued spending” on the president’s part. After getting in her final word, she shifted the conversation back to the original Hot Topic subject — leaving Haines feeling guilty for bringing up the economy in the first place.

“That was supposed to be a joke and it really held on here,” Haines said. “Too long.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
