Joy Behar sparked a debate on The View after she shared a shockingly somber prediction of what’s to come under the rest of President Trump’s administration.
“If you guys think that we can survive another three-and-a-half years of this, I think you’re delusional,” she said. “Every day, there’s some nihilistic thing.”
The hosts had just finished discussing President Trump’s recent appearance at Sec. of Defense Pete Hegseth’s controversial military summit in which they railed against “woke” military service members as well as a deepfake video Trump shared of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, which the ladies of The View called “despicable” and racist.
But Sara Haines was not pleased with Behar’s statement, to say the least.”It’s only Tuesday, Joy. Can we not start there?” she fired back.
But Behar continued railing against Trump.
“I hate to be Debbie Downer but every day this guy is undoing something that we value,” she said. “Everyday it’s a shock and awe here and I, for one. am skeptical that we will survive this.”
Haines tried to offer their audience some comfort by telling them, “I am not [skeptical]. If you need that from me, I do believe.”

Sunny Hostin then pointed out to Behar that she must have “seen worse” under previous presidencies, considering she grew up during the Cuba Missile Crisis and the civil rights era.
“No. No, I have not,” Behar responded, adding that she also grew up during World War II.
Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin maintained that they were still feeling “hopeful” as Behar continued comparing Trump’s presidency to the previous she’s seen.
“They were all dealt with by presidents who were not in the business of destroying the country and destroying the constitution,” she explained. “I mean we always had presidents who followed the law, including Nixon. As bad as he was, he had respect for the constitution.”
The other hosts were not so sure about that, as someone chimed in to comment, “Um, not all the time.” But the segment ended on a somber note as she quickly threw it to commercial, ending their conversation short.
