The View took a trip to the not-so-distant past on this morning’s episode, uttering a name not heard around the table in a while. While discussing Insecure star Yvonne Orji’s admission that she remains a virgin at age 39, the panel was reminded of former co-host Paula Faris, who left her hosting duties in 2018.
Orji revealed in an interview with Chelsea Handler in September that she is waiting until she is married to have sex, which Alyssa Farah Griffin celebrated while reacting to her comments on this morning’s episode.
Referring specifically to Orji’s remark that people will have to “pray” for her future husband because of her “pent-up energy,” Griffin said, “I like that she took away the stigma of virgins, that they’re prudish and afraid of sex.”
Sara Haines immediately chimed in, “That’s every person that’s ever— have you met Paula Faris? She literally— some people that wait, it’s…”
This was news to Joy Behar, who asked Haines, “She waited to have sex?” Before she could reply, Whoopi Goldberg confidently cut in, “Yes,” but Haines was more cagey when she answered Behar.
“I can’t confirm or deny,” she said, “But I do know that that when it was unleashed…”
Sunny Hostin confirmed as much about Faris, telling the panel, “She was unleashed.”
Repating Hostin’s words, Haines continued, “She was unleashed. A lot of people that do this for spiritual reasons are really…”

Faris first joined The View as a co-host in 2015 and stayed on the show for three years before her 2018 exit. During her time at the Hot Topics table, she memorably revealed that she and her husband refer to sex as “ministry time.”
Per The Wrap, Faris shared on a 2015 episode, “He’s ministering to me and I’m ministering to him.”
Her words earned a classic response from Behar, who retorted, “The minute these girls get born again, they become the biggest sluts.”
The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
